LUST (part 1)

Dedicated to sweet sis Dipanwesha and Sattwika and to all my teenage friends..!

In love even an object is elevated to life. Stones and trees speak to you; the sun, the moon, the entire creation becomes alive and divine. In a lust even a living being becomes a mere object.

  • Lust brings tension; love brings relaxation.
  • In lust there is cunningness and manipulation; in love there is playfulness.
  • Lust focuses on a part; love focuses on the whole.
  • In lust you want to grasp and possess; in love you want to give and surrender.
  • In lust there is effort; love is effortless.
  • Lust brings violence; love brings sacrifice.
  • Lust demands; love commands.
  • In lust you are confused; in love you are focussed.
  • Lust is dark and monotonous; love has many modes and colors.
  • Lust says, "All I want you to have is what I want." Love says, "I want you to have what you want."
  • Lust causes feverishness and frustration; love causes longing and pain.
  • Lust imprisons and destroys; love liberates and sets you free.
If someone's lust is interrupted, they become angry and start hating. Hatred in the world is not out of love; it is out of lust.

"Shiva", the embodiment of "innocence" and "love", was meditating. His meditation was disturbed by an arrow of flowers from the lord of lust. As soon as Shiva awoke, he opened his third eye and lord of lust, "Manmathava" - one who churns the mind - was reduced to ashes.

Cheers!

ATTACHMENTS..(part FINAL)

TO: NO ONE! :)

Craving comes from encouraging thoughts of pleasure. Yet the actual experience of pleasure may not be as pleasurable as the memory of it. Whether you encourage a worldly thought or a Divine thought, they both bring you pleasure. Worldly thoughts lead to indulgence, which brings you down from pleasure to disappointment and dejection. Divine thoughts take you up from pleasure to bliss, intelligence and progress in life. Worldly thoughts bring pleasure only as memory, while Divine thoughts come as reality.

Question: "What is a Divine thought?"
I am not the body; I am bliss, 'satchitananda'; I am unbounded space; I am love; I am peace; I am light.

Question: "What is a worldly thought?"
Worldly thoughts are about money, sex, food, power, status and self-image.

Truth is hidden by the golden veil of mundane. Pierce through the thin glitterring sheath and know you are the sun.

ATTACHMENTS..(part 2)

Continuing...for Nipu again!

Attachments cause feverish breath. Feverish breath takes away your peace of mind. And without peace of mind, you come apart and fall prey to misery. Unfortunately most people do not notice this until it is too late. Before you get scatterred too much, gather yourself together and get rid of your breath of feverishness through surrender and sadhana - spiritual practices.

When you are drowning in the ocean of attachments, surrender is a life jacket. Without fighting attachments, observe your feverish breath and go to the cool place of silence within. Your first step in this direction is directing your attachment to knowledge, to the Divine.

Your non-attachment to the mundane is your charm. Your attachment to the Divine is beauty! :)

Cheers!

ATTACHMENTS..(part 1)

Something for Nipu!

Krishna means the most attractive. He is the divinity, the energy that attracts everything to it. Krishna is the formless center that is everywhere. All attractions from anywhere come only from Krishna.

Often people fail to see the spirit behind the attraction, and merely hold onto the outer shell. And the moment you try to possess the shell, you will see Krishna has played a trick; you will be left with an empty shell in your hands and tears in your eyes.

Do not be tricked by Krishna - be clever like Radha. Krishna could not escape from Radha because her whole world was filled with Krishna. If you can see that wherever there is an attraction there is Krishna, then you are Radha, you are in your center.

The mind moves towards beauty, joy and truth. Krishna tells Arjuna in Gita, "I am the beauty in the Beautiful, the strength in the Strong, the wisdom in the Wise." In this way he arrests the mind from moving away from him.

SENSES

The senses are like fire. Your life is like fire. Whatever you put into the fire of senses burns. If you burn a tire, it creates pollution and a foul smell. But if you burn sandalwood, it creates fragrance. Some fires pollute and others purify.

Celebration happens around bonfire. Grief happens around the cremation fire. The same fire that supports life in winter also destroys.

You are like fire. Are you the fire that creates smoke and pollution, or the flame of camphor that creates light and fragrance? A saint is a camphor flame that creates light and fragrance of love. He is the friend of life.

The highest quality fire creates light and warmth. A medium quality fire creates light but also a little smoke. The lowest quality fire produces only smoke and darkness. Learn to distinguish the different fires. If your senses are engaged in goodness, you will create light and fragrance. If engaged in impurity, you produce smoke and darkness. It is "samyama" that transforms the quality of fire in you.

THE YOU THAT YOU WANT TO CHANGE

More for Nivi than for NJHM.

Being in a crowd when you are alone is ignorance. A feeling of oneness in crowd is a sign of wisdom. Being alone in a crowd is enlightment.

Knowledge of life brings confidence, and knowledge of death makes you fearless and centred.

Some know how to celebrate when they are in a crowd. Some can only rejoice alone in silence. I tell you to do both. Celebrate when you are alone and celebrate when you are with people.

Celebrate silence and celebrate noise.

Celebrate life and celebrate death.

:)

Cheers!

MISERY

Dedicated to NJHM!!!!!

Memories make u miserable or wise. Memories of the events and experiences of the changing finite world bind you but memory of your nature liberates you. Memories of the ever-changing relative - however good or bad - bring bondage. Memory of non-changing self elevates awareness. Memories of past events and worldly concerns constrict the vastness of the Self. It is all a matter of where you are, of what you are. If you are ignorant, it is because of your memory. If you are enlightened, it is because of your memory.

Forgetfullness of the infinite is misery. Forgetfullness of the trivial is ecstasy.

Know the impermanent nature of the world and events. KNOW THAT PAST EVENTS DO NOT EXIST IN THE PRESENT. Accept the past as it was. Be dispassionate and centered. Do service to the noble. Increase 'prana'- the vital breath, the force of life. Be in the presence of Divine. Go to the moon!

Cheers!!

Rahul Ghosh!!!!

Continuing with the bad habit of naming the blog before writing it...turns out rarely the body matches with title...

I should learn naming blogs later...wrting them first..from Rahul...well but i decide "No..i am weird in my own special way! :D"

I do not know why i named the blog Rahul Ghosh...though i have no intentions to write a biography on him!!

Might be i was over humoured by his new awesome blog!!!!
this boy...he is really a creative idiot...so much creative and humourous that his words if placed in seriously placed would seriously earn him his dreams...the Nobel Prize!! :D :D

I do not know how...but i have been able to mention Rahul in each and every paragraph so far...may be because i am just keeping on typing without anythoughts on my mind..even any slightest idea what am i going to write...I am just writing because i am tired of studying and neck is paining...this proves to be a way of relaxation!!!!!!

Chal...lets deviate from topic.! :D (my favourite hobby!!)

My second favourite hobby is teaching...and there too wherever i start i ultimately end somewhere else...
And the variation is so huge that any person who has missed out any middle part of the teaching would surely think that he has time travelled in the last few minutes and landed up in some another century when the physics lover Subhomoy Bakshi has started lecturing on Hamlet!! :D :D

Well thats what happens...and that is why i am well known here (here means J K Nagar...the place i currently live)..i am well known not because i can do something special...but ya i can waste any person's life fruitfully...they would surely learn something from me even if i know nothing of the subject! LOL!!! :P (i was just kidding!!)

Anyways...i have not bee able to think of a good topic to write on but LO! i am such a long distance from the title already..:P And the title already looks so much misplaced! :P But ya..i never use a backspace! :D

Well...a sudden wind pushed open the window...*shiverring* Its cold out side....but look at the sky!
Never realised but darkness has a beauty...who cares..i am not going t write about it now! LOL!

What is it that i am going to write about?? Whatever i write about i want to ensure madhu, one of my friends (1 yr older than me!) doesnt cry reading it! :P

I lack creativity! :D Why shall i not? I never eeded to create things .. just RE-create them! :P

English is so misleading! :P Re-create doesnt mean to Re-produce...Re-produce doesnt mean to Re-make while create, produce and make nearly mean the same!! DuDe! i am wasting the time of me and the readers! But who cares! ;)

Edudigm was a great coaching class! Whatever i learnt..whatever I am is due to it! :D Thanks Nishant bhaiya..thanks Rajiv Bhaiya! :)
I still remember the day when they first stepped into Hem Sheela Model School...we were taken to the A-V hall and there we saw some one mota..overeaten...and the other malnourished...Me with the exceptional sense of humour had already cracked 234 jokes on them when i was informed THESE ARE IITANS!!:P

"These are IITANS!!!??", i had wondered!! :P and said it aloud for nearly 7 times in different tones,..."These are IITANS!! really IITans???" and had added...cant iitans be someone inbetween these two? and looked at my hands! :P Now i find this memory riddiculous! :P

Well next what happened was...history...(w.r.t. now surely it is! :P) Accidentally i was enrolled into Edudigm classes..and slowly fell in love with this undernourished genius Mr.Nishant Sah (i mention here that i am straight!) .. loved his cool maths and physics and within a few days i fell in love with the overnourished genius Mr. Rajiv Agarwal (again i repeat i am straight! LOL), his chemistry IS awesome! :D

Well, edudigm classes rocked..with seemingly more fun than studies but now i realise somehow those scanty pieces of studies had chiselled into me some hard concepts which helped me to get a 330 out of 480 in one of the mock tests (i guess it was the highest! :P)...

Well Thank you bhaiya!

Ravish bhaiya came towards the end...he is a man with awesome physics and even more Awesome Muscles! Love him (Repeating third time "i am straight!")...always i used to be afraid to ask doubts to him...his muscles were too big not to be feared! :D but the rest of the class seemed more timid and have no doubt in physics whatsoever and so ultimately i had to face him! He is a nice and friendly man! and i regret my losing his phone number!

Faizan bhaiya..attended only one class of him in Organic chemistry...made me love organic chemistry and thats why chemistry has become the subject where i score maximum out of the three in mock tests nowadays! :D Thanks bhaiya!

Seems what by the title seemed to be a Testimonial to Rahul Ghosh has turned up to be a Testimonial to Edudigm...yet the topic is still testimonial!!!!!!!!

Lest i deviate any further...i should stop here...

I do not mind stopping abruptly as much i fear deviating much further and losing myself into the world of imaginative nonsense which would make me write for pakka one hour!!

So apprehensive of what it might result to i here draw the line and stop writing! but i do not have a scale and pencil how to draw line? :(

Anyways Adieu! :P

Hope...!!

As i started writing this blog...I needed to give a heading(as usual)...so I thought a bit on what to write and came up with this word "HOPE!!"

But as i started typing the word in the title column..."H"...the pop out option came out and it said: "Hybridisation doubts..!!"...i chuckled to myself! how appropriate an incident with respect to what i am going to describe!!

Hybridisation doubts...Chemistry eh!!
I wonder in the past few years (four to be accurate) how much i have got involved in this world of studies that even my lappy recognises educational topics with every single alphabet i type in the title box...GODDDD!!! I had studied so much in these years...

But things were not so even four years ago...i remember the bubbling desire in me to become a cricketer...as days would pass the size of the bubble would grow larger and larger...but too much big a bubble must obviously burst off at a certain moment of time...um that is what happened and here i am as nerd as world perceives me today...bt much changed as the world knew me!!!!!!!!

I still remember the last cricket match i ever played!
It was 2009...sometime in may-june.
A 5 hour match...i remember how much less i used to get tired...how much practice i had...how much more physically fit i used to be!! Run around the field( so huge sometimes ) ninety-nine times yet ready for another ninety-nine rounds...and now i guess i wont even be able to do one! :P Poor me! :D

Yeah! the last match...one of the most eventful match....as usual our bowling side was as weak as our batting side was strong...when i started playing the match...least did i know that it would be the last professional match that i would play at least in the next four years!!

Yea I "WAS" a professional cricketer...captained one of the finest team in under-15 cricket that history has ever seen (i feel so!!)...but no more...:P...it all ended that day!!

We were facing a team that was rated better than all others at that time for the first time...(well as always it was according to me the second-best...WE WERE THE BEST MANNN!!!)...but ya still there was obvious tension given our bowling side was "TOOOO"good! ;)

So I went to the middle with the other captain and the referee and head umpire! (how distinctly I remember it still!)...he tossed the coin i said..."Tails!" [not the usual call that I used to give...but dont know why I called tails that day! Everything was so special! ;)]

um i lost the toss...rarely that happened...but happened nonetheless!! :P They selected to bat first..!

So match started!!

20 overs match...!! 180 would be more than unachievable given the opener "Jahangir" wasn't playing...he was awesome man!! Rarely got out...and whenever he did...entire team would start biting nails! ;)..but never mind match started!!!

At my usual position behind the stumps...I started with full enthusiasm...10 overs rolled away...eventful for their side and frustrating for us!! already 120 without loss!!!!! Jahangir we need you man!!!

15 overs rumbled by...we were successful in getting one of the openers bowled...an exceptional technique by Rajesh but the new batsman turned out to be more aweful for us! (i should have used the word awesome instead..but in my attempt of keeping alive mine tradition of never pressing the backspace..i wont edit it! :P)

Well ya..15 overs rumbled by...190 runs for 1 wicket...

I was angry...frustrated...depressed...at wits end....every trick failed...every plan mutilated.!!!!!

We needed something new to try! :P

Suddenly this idea struck me...we had nothing more to lose..:P...so i decided to gamble...i gave up the keeper's gloves to Suprakash and asked Sid ( the other opener..who was then standing in the slips..to come to long on..! the regular bowlers in long on and off were promoted to slips and third man!! the long off was kept uncovered...MAN I WAS SIMPLY GAMBLING!!!)

Team members didnt like the idea when they saw this sudden unexpected change...i was half past caring now that i was dripping with frustration...they were even more shocked to see the new bowler...they expected me to goto the long off and give the ball to someone else but their blizzard faces showed their utter shock when i walked down the pitch to take a long run down for bowling....!! The only other time I had bowled was when i was hit six fours in six consequetive balls....i dont know why  took that desicion then!!!!!!

Anyways after a long Shoaib Akhter like run i delivered a very very very slow delivery...this puzzled the batsman and whoosh....unfortunately the keeper missed the catch!!!!!! :( :( :(

Whatever...the next delivery was...god knows what!! it was a dot ball whatsoever!

Third ball went for a boundary...and obvious utterings from every other players...(they were expecting history to repeat itself ;)!!)

Unexpectedly...the fourth ball which was a misthrow...pulled the ball so high that Sid was able to position himself safely under the ball and there was a catch out!!! The rest balls yeilded one more run...

Next over was bowled by Sid..who had no ABSOLUTELY NO bowling experience in matches...but then luck was WITH us! :P yeilded just 2 runs! DUDE WE WERE PROVING EXPENSIVE FOR the OtheR SIDES!!!

Anyways the last four overs just gave 15 runs and took 3 wickets and final score was 205 for 4! ! !

VERY UNACHIEVABLE!!!!!!!!

As pre determined...our openers were the usual SID and the unusual SUBHOMOY BAKSHI A.K.A ATGS!! That was me! :P

Well somewhere down my logic i know we are gonna lose but my heart still said WE ARE THE BEST! :D

OH MY GOD WHAT A MATCH IT WAS!!!!

THEY DID NOT SUCCEED TO TAKE EVEN ONE WICKET!!!!!!

SID WAS AWESOME...SO WAS I!! :P :P :P (Sorry for lack of Modesty! ;) )

well we had a great innings but the score was thus that we still needed 46 runs in the last two overs!!!!!

It was the time the real drama started!!!! :P

It was Sid facing the ball!! and me oh the other side quite confident that we are gonna lose not caring much now ( but the heart still expected!!! It never gav up hope! :P)

first ball went as a four...second ball another four!!!!....third ball....HATTRICK!!!! :D my heart was RACING!!! somehow we will do it!!!!fourth ball ...... <<<>>> hawwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!

Fifth ball.....!!! we took a single...and on the way back....for the double Sid got run out!!!! SHIT MAN!!!

Last ball of the over...the first ball that i was facing of the over...(I was very tired!)..we barely took 2 runs!!

The new batsman started the lastover! 31 runs needed!!!

First ball..he just touched the bat on the ball...and somehow managed a single!! F**K MAN!!

Last five balls 30runs needed!!!! I was to face all..and somehow needed to convert them all into SIXES!!! riddiculously unbelievable...!! we needed some miracle...also i was exhausted!!!!

A cricketer couldnt possible do it! At least not in a match...with that lot of tension around! At least I couldn't...

So I closed my eyes...ready to face the blame! Ready to LOSE!! Ready to face the first ball of the last crucial FIVE!!!

FIRST BALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i was expecting a no ball! or a wide! ;)
but the bowler's confidence showed neither would occur....somehow i had to connect the bat to the ball with all might!!!!!!
I closed my eyes..the bowler was running...i opened my eyes! The ball was thrown...as if under a charm I moved the bat...thud!!! I EXPECTED A ZERO!!! but in the next second found the ball flying to the boundary...!!!! SIXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX!!!!!!

Phew!!!

Ball number 2...i was playful now...confidence regaining...and tension building up too...i had to do it! :D

Ball came and like a baseball player i lifted my leg and with all might forced the ball to the leg side!! SIX!!

Three more to go!!!!!!

I cant describe them....they were overwhelming...but whatever i did went for a SIX nothing less....i was not joyed...i was not sad...i was something i could never describe!!!!!!! I can never describe!!!!

Until the last ball....

It was crucial...but i did not care if we lost...I had done my job...proved my caliber...i ws thanking God already...now was the last one!

The bowler would give his best...so will I.......It would be a man to man combat..this last ball...it would be a six to win or no six to lose...mathematically it was more probable that the bowler will win....but my heart still said...NO IT IS WE!! WE ARE THE BEST!!!!!!!!

he ran ..... the run up seemed slowed down...slow motioned!!!

his hand swooshed and ball was delivered......my shoulders instinctive by practice positioned for a SIX...by legs strong again moving front wise......my eyes unnaturally squeezed...my eyes only looking towards the slow motioned ball!!! my hand in full comand over the will piece...there was no chance of mistake...

It was time...the hands gave a quick swish the ball was hit..and the slow motioned world again became normal!!!

GUESS WHAT!! It was not a six..

..

..

It was the highest SIXER i had ever made...it was a SUPER SIX!!!!

And We had won the match!!!

throughout the match i had seen varied feeling...hope and despair....happiness and frustration....expectations and anguish...but at the end...it was my day..it was our day!!!

WE HAD MADE IT POSSIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
